DirectorAfter struggling with addiction to drugs and alcohol her entire life, Beth has found a solution to her drug addiction and alcholism and a new way of life. Beth dedicates her life to helping drug addicts and alcoholics.
After struggling with substance abuse for over ten years Nick was introduced to the Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous and seeing it as an approach far different than anything he has tried before. Nick dedicates his life to bringing others through the Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous to help them recover from the hopeless state of mind, body, and spirit.
Why We Are Here
The Lake Shore Retreat is a Twelve Step Program which thoroughly breaks down the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous. In order to recover from the disease of addiction and alcoholism, our guests must first understand the entirety of the actual problem. We believe that addicts and alcoholics suffer from a three-fold disease which centers in the mind, body, and spirit. We thoroughly break down the disease model which thoroughly explains the problem. Without understanding the actual problem there is little hope to recover from this disease.
Beth and all of the staff at the Lake Shore Retreat are in recovery themselves. They consistently practice the same principles in their lives every day, which will be taught to the guests of Lake Shore Retreat. We work a three phase system which differentiates us from most recovery homes in Massachusetts. Lake Shore Retreat is the first phase of our addiction recovery system and is needed to help the alcoholic or addict begin their spiritual journey in addiction recovery. Every day we begin with a meditation and at the end of the day, we retire at night with a meditation. In between, there is instruction in the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous, the disease model of addiction, and much more that will help the struggling addict or alcoholic learn and grow in their path to addiction recovery.
