We here at The Lake Shore Retreat strongly encourage your involvement in your loved one’s recovery.


Visitation Policy
Visitation is on Saturdays and Sundays from 2pm-4pm.
Guests must get approval by staff for each visitor they wish to receive a visit with by Thursday evening wrap-up group.
We ask that visitors be limited to family members and those paramount to our guest’s recovery.
All visitors must sign in at the main office upon arrival.
Children and pets are welcome.
Any items visitors bring to guests must first be inspected and approved by staff.
Visitors are not allowed in the guest rooms, only common areas of the house and backyard.

General Information
Medical and dental emergencies will be promptly addressed.
Incoming mail will be opened in front of and inspected by a staff member.
Guests are to remain at the Retreat and will be escorted by staff several times a week for all outside necessities (i.e food shopping, pharmacy, bank, etc.)
Our conduct policies ensure the safety and well-being of our guests. Conduct violations will result in discharge from the Retreat.
Guests will attend outside AA/CA/DAA meetings 2-4 times per week with staff.

While your loved one is a guest at the Lake Shore Retreat, we strive for the removal of all outside distractions as we do not want to take away from their 12-step experience. Therefore, guests may not have cell phones, iPods, tablets, or anything that connects to the internet. We kindly ask our guests to limit their phone calls to 1-2 10 minute calls per day.
